The Cover
At first glance I thought I was looking at a Skullduggery
Pleasant Book. Well it’s not. It’s by that author who did the Pendragon series
which I did not really find that impressive. By just looking at the cover I bet
the scary skull angle goes after the main character. I’m predicting that the
main character will be male and be a completely normal person until the point
that the creepy thing attacks him. He is then tossed into a dark and strange
world where he is trying to get back to “the light” or find “the light”. There
is or will be more books in this series since the side says book one…
The Flap and Back
It stinks that he invented a character in a sketchbook that
is magically alive and had something to do with his best friends disappearance.
Good note is that his best friend has a sister it and together they try to
figure out the mystery. I smell romance in the air. I wonder if the best friend
is completely innocent or has some secrets of his own. I believe there is two different routes
that the author could have taken. 1st-
Something magical happened. With the sketchbook or if he is magical himself
created a world without knowing it. 2nd- The world
existed before he just remembers the creature in his subconscious and ended up drawing
it in his sketchbook. It is
most likely option number 2. It does not look like a happy magical world with
the cover. I'm having a hard time guessing what will happen with my limited information. I’m hoping for a good suspenseful book
that holds my attention to the end.
